Hi! I'm Emily Ann Peterson.

I create Resonance for people who...

crave all things beautiful, strong, sacred, & sensual,

love feeling really alive & hate feeling lonely,

need to make stuff & are never satisfied,

struggle to remember what hope feels like,

deeply yearn for something secret,

look for a life filled with meaning,

are totally over being bored & are really into creativity,

for people who are ready to really connect.

I do this through...

songwriting

I have 3 albums out right now and 1 album waiting in the wings.

performing

& of course writing

via my blog, book, and weekly letters.

When I'm not doing all that, I am...

traveling around the globe,

consulting remotely for a handful of marketing clients in tech and small business,

drinking boxed wine with my closest friends,

writing stream-of-consciousness daily,

making to-do lists,

and impatiently waiting for the latest picture of my nieces.

I used to...

be a full-time cellist and cello teacher. I loved every bit of it.

But in December of 2013, I was diagnosed with a degenerative, hereditary, neurological tremor in my right hand, my bow hand.

I call it my other biological clock.

As you can imagine, it's been life-altering... in some of the best and worst ways.

Because of this, I now write and perform my songs on piano and my great grandpa's tenor guitar.

Listen to my music here.

Random Facts

(If you're just dying to know more...)

I lived in Pau, France for 4 months in 2002 and in Ankara, Turkey for 8 months in 2006.

Matcha green tea please!

I drive a minivan because, yes, I'm that cool.

No, I don't have kids - just a lot of instruments. ;)

And... here are some things that make me cry:

ARTIST STATEMENT

When beauty & strength

connect with

the sacred & sensual...

We crave it.

We yearn for it.

We’re attracted to it.

We lean into it.

Fall for it.

Break hearts for it.

& the second we steady our feet.

We crave it again.

and again.

and again.

The things of life are subjectively sacred…

purpose

work

peace/war

art

words

music

beauty

pain/pleasure

success/failure

desire

connection

wealth

Each of us experience & treasure them uniquely.

Yet, they are the things that make us all tick, the things that give us all momentum.

the things that keep us going & allow us to give up and make us give in.

What if we measured life by its spectrum and depth?

What if the measurement of someone’s life is not finite?

What if it’s value keeps going beyond our knowing?

What if the waves we make today are to be felt generations from now?

How would that change...

the relationships we have?

the careers we sweat over?

the things we make?

the time we invest?

the money we spend?

hobbies we nurture?

the events we attend?
