2012 Paralympics: Most Inspiring Thing I've Seen Online

Via facebook I was pointed towards this collection of 33 of the most inspiring photos from the 2012 Paralympics. By the time I scrolled to the 33rd one, I was in tears.

Don't ever let me say that sports aren't inspiring. ever. again.

I was particularly struck by the image below...

Sometimes I feel like Guilherme Soares de Santana. Maybe my cello students aren't winning the Paralympics, but I love getting to tell them "You've done it!" It's such an honor guiding my students towards success and growth. They often don't know they're touching "the finish line" until we've passed it up (and I'm screaming and cheering with my mouth as wide as my fist and eyes as big as sliver dollars. hehe.)

And then there are times when I'm the one being guided. How frustrating that is?! Not knowing exactly where I am in the line of "success?" Needing intense amounts of practice for not necessarily running fast, but running straight?!

Can you see where I'm going with this metaphor? Okay good. I'll stop so you can go ahead and create your own metaphor from those 33 rock-your-face-off photos. Enjoy!
